unrequitted attention

You sure well know that I love you more than my wife!

I come to you first thing as I wake up and cannot resist visiting you frequently during the time that I am awake. And, indeed your company has become an addictive habit over a period of time and I feel listless if I have not had a contact with you. And, even when I am asleep, my dreams are also about you and your reactions. There is nothing else in my life that is as dominating and demanding as you are!

After all the disciplined trips to the gym and the regular work out sessions are all meant to placate you. Why do you think I have undertaken the mission of recording 19000 steps a day if not to seek your benevolence.

And, all that I seek is just a nod from you. Even a frown indicating the tiniest of the movement of your lips suffices to keep me charged the whole day. I am surely not greedy nor am I demanding huge favours of you.

Yet you remain inscrutable! There is not the slightest of the movement on your face which could indicate that you have recognised my overtures. You behave like an unmoving fixture that is stuck to its place with a strong glue.

Don’t you have some sympathy for this old man?

Or is it that you have become so heartless that you have stopped beating?

Should I try a transplant of your heart and change the battery cells? Then may be you will indicate by that tiny movement on the dial if at all I have lost few miili grams of my weight.

Corporate/Business/Professional

SINGAPORE

A corporate manager for over 40  years with an all round exposure. Have had the good fortune of great bosses who unfailingly took the risk of trying me out with  new functional responsibilities  that I was neither qualified to handle nor had any prior exposure. This served as an excellent opportunity for learning and  the exciting process continues even as I am ready to retire!

Have bid adieu to formal learning process long ago but the quest  continues.

"Human beings" interest me the most .. the curiosity at observing and learning from fellow beings appears to be a key  driver at this stage of life. Would like to spend the rest of the days in making a difference to them.

Other interests include gymming, music, etc..

Blogging seems to be a god sent opportunity to laugh at oneself freely and without any pretensions. It also provides an excellent route to introspection albeit a bit loudly!
