Dongri to Dubai is a very daring and first of its kind attempt to portray the real truths behind the Mumbai Mafia Industry and its history. Recently released movie 'Shootout At Wadala' is based on it. Written by S.Hussain Zaidi, a veteran, investigative/ crime journalist. Zaidi has been bold enough to project life and times of some renowned gangstars of Mumbai, Haji Mastan, Varadarajan, Chhota Rajan, Abu Salem, Karim Lala and the likes.
But most imoprtant character in the movie is Dawood Ibrahim, his entry into Mumbai criminal world despite being a Police Inspector's son. Few years down the line this boy from Dongri knew all the games played by all the Mafia kingpins of Mumbai at that time. Later, Dawood became 'The Don' and Mumbai Police's worst enemy, then the blasts happened and he moved out of the country. First supposedly to Dubai and now according to news agencies is residing in Pakistan with full police protection.
The book also encompasses the life of Manohar Surve, a decent guy with a dream to get a decent job and live peacefully. But his dreams were shattered when his brother, who was working closely with one of the group of Mumbai Mafia, introduced his brother into this dubious world.
Read this book if you are looking for a little change in your reading pattern. And I promise, it will be difficult for you to put the book down.
