Amar Singh: No proposal to join UPA Government
Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh has said that his party has not received any proposal from the Congress to join the UPA government. Neither had SP given any such proposal, he said.
Asked if he would be a minister in the union cabinet, Amar Singh said: "Ask Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi and Mulayam Singh Yadav. It is not such a thing as can be had through application. I have not applied for ministership. Newspapers have made me a minister."
Singh was speaking to the press after meeting Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee at her residence in south Kolkata.
Emerging from the meeting, Singh told newsmen along with Mamata that he had not come to meet her as an emissary of Congress. ''I am here in my personal capacity. My relation with Mamata dates back to a long time," he said.
