Arjun Singh may get cabinet berth: Sources

Contrary to speculations, the septuagenarian Congress leader, Arjun Singh, may actually get a cabinet berth, indicate party sources. Singh was a cabinet minister in the last government and held the important Human Resource Development Ministry portfolio.
The Madhya Pradesh stalwart didn't fight the election this time due to failing health. He was bitter as his daughter was denied a ticket by the party and had made his displeasure known in public. Due to the outburst, seasoned Congress experts were expecting that he would be sidelined in the new government.

There was also talk that Rahul Gandhi's influence would usher in a younger cabinet this time round. However, contrary to what was being discussed in the corridors of power, it now seems  the Congress loyalist has been assured of a berth in the new cabinet by the High Command.
